Our mission is to facilitate community connection, mutual aid, and access to resources and supports
for all people who live, work, pray, play and/or learn in Newton, MA, and other local communities. 

When Newton Neighbors started six plus years ago during the COVID lockdowns, it was four women checking in on neighbors. Today, thanks to generous supporters like you, we’ve grown into a deeply rooted, all-volunteer network dedicated to supporting families across our city.As economic and political pressures continue to weigh heavily on local households, your partnership ensures basic needs don't become a crisis.

 

Every September, we aim to raise $8,000 to power our operating programs and volunteer coordination for the year ahead. Covering this overhead now means that 100% of every subsequent dollar raised goes directly to all the programs that support our neighbors.

 

Here is What Your Support Made Possible This Year:

• Back-to-School Readiness  - No more paper bag backpacks! Distributed 160 backpacks fully loaded with supplies, lunch boxes, and water bottles, plus 22 graphing calculators and 25 bike helmets to local students.

• Giving Thanks Holiday Support  - Everyone can celebrate the season! Provided 400 families with supermarket gift cards through the Bruce H. Wilson Giving Thanks Drive.

• Diaper Bank Access  - Imagine choosing between diapers or groceries? Distributed over 50,000 diapers to more than 400 families.

• Summer Camp Scholarships  - Every student deserves camp! Sent 51 Newton Public School students to summer camp for 4–7 weeks.

• Year-Round Relief  - Families need help every week! Completed 1,136 food pantry deliveries, stocked the Nonantum Freedge weekly, and connected families to vital social services and emergency funds.
